| Adapted
from the widely-successful play by Edna Walsh this is Kirsten
Sheridan's feature directorial debut. Pig (Cillian Murphy) and
Runt (Elaine Cassidy) are born on the same day, in the same hospital,
moments apart. Living next to each other has made them the best
of friends and partners in crime as they try to avenge themselves
on a cruel world with recklessness, exploration and destruction,
touchingly countered by their fragile dream of a fairytale ending.
They have their own language, their own rules, and despise everyone
but each other. Days before their 17th birthday the perfect balance
of their world begins to shift. Pig’s sexual awakening and
increasing jealousy begins to thereaten their private universe.
Unable to contemplate the loss of Runt, Pig’s unpredicatable
nature spirals out of control in a trail of violence and destruction.
The inseperable are about to separate, and which one will survive
will depend on which one can break free.
